Hometown Heroes Banner Program

Honor veterans, active military, and first responders.

The Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a community tribute initiative created to honor the men and women who have served, are currently serving, and our first responders. Through this program, families, friends, and community members can recognize their heroes with a personalized banner displayed proudly along the Baldwin Corridor in Orion Township.

Each custom banner features the honoree’s name, photo, years of service, and branch of service or department/agency, creating a visible and meaningful tribute to their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment. Banners are displayed annually from Memorial Day through Veterans Day during the year they are purchased, serving as a powerful reminder of the individuals who have given so much in service to others.

The cost per banner is $100, with proceeds benefiting the Orion Veterans Memorial. You can mail a check to the address on the flyer, or submit payment online (and email a copy of the receipt). Participants also have the option to pick up their banner after Veterans’ Day as a keepsake.

This program is a meaningful way to celebrate local heroes, share their stories, and visibly demonstrate the community’s gratitude for their service.
